‘Wear it Pink’ sales meeting to raise awareness of Breast Cancer

National Windscreens Regional Head Office in Bristol joined the national ‘Wear it Pink’ campaign last week to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care - the lead charity behind October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign.

The UK wide ’Wear it Pink’ event on 24th October coincided with the regional sales meeting which saw the whole South West sales team wearing at least one pink item of clothing, thanks to a suggestion from Regional Sales Manager Roger Sherriff who has previously taken part in the MoonWalk London. The walk was organised by Walk the Walk – a charitable organisation that gives grants to breast cancer related charities and campaigns.

Roger says, “Wear it Pink is an initiative which organisations of all sizes can easily get involved in to help raise awareness and funds for charities undertaking vital research work.”

As well as making cash donations, staff members at the Bristol head office were also able to purchase cakes baked by the finance department, with all proceeds donated directly to the charity.

As the most common cancer in the UK with a lifetime risk of one in eight for women, breast cancer can be a devastating condition which requires early detection for improved chances of survival.

Regional Sales and Marketing Director, Martyn Bennett, comments, “Both National Windscreens employees and local fitting centres support a wide variety of charities and causes throughout the UK.

“The South West region decided to join ‘Wear it Pink’ to help raise awareness of the UK’s most common type of cancer and to offer our support to those affected by the condition.”
