National Windscreens, the UK’s largest independently owned windscreen repair and replacement specialist, will be showcasing the world leading ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration service which forms parts of its dedicated package for insurance brokers on Stand F36 at BIBA 2017.

National Windscreens offers a dedicated service for insurance brokers designed to make claims handling fast and cost effective.

Lisa Pugh, recently appointed as insurance business development director at National Windscreens, says: “We fully understand that insurance brokers are at the cutting edge in the delivery of customer satisfaction and that success relies on building policyholder trust and delivering on promises.

“Our 108 ADAS centres mean that, on average, a UK motorist is never more than 11 miles or 20 minutes away from a National Windscreens technician. We also hold in excess of £9 million of glass stocks and our Partscheck software, which correctly identifies the glass a motorist needs just by entering the vehicle registration number, is running at an accuracy rate of over 99.5%.

“Finding the right glass may sound simple but some vehicles can have up to as many as 20 different types of windscreen. Expecting a motorist to know the exact replacement windscreen type they require is unrealistic in many cases so we developed this software to eradicate this issue and ensure motorists are back on the road more quickly,” she added.

National Windscreens also offers the ability to set up a broker account, providing access to an online broker portal which makes it simple to book and monitor windscreen repair and replacement jobs.

National Windscreens holds sole and preferred supplier status with many of the UK’s leading insurance providers and has direct billing arrangements with more than 70 of them – testimony to the outstanding service it provides to both brokers and policy holders.

Brokers will also be able to find out more about the company’s £2 million investment in training and technology to meet the growing demand for calibration of ADAS cameras, a result of the large increase in the number of cars being fitted with such systems.

Alistair Carlton, technical manager at National Windscreens, explains: “ADAS is a particular issue for brokers because many of these systems work through cameras mounted on windscreens so, if glass needs replacing, then these cameras also need to be calibrated in order to ensure the safety features continue to work as intended.

“All brokers will, I’m sure, welcome the fact that up to 40% of cars are predicted to have ADAS by 2020, which will make UK roads safer. We are doing everything we can to help insurers, brokers and motorists to be are aware that ADAS camera calibration is essential following windscreen replacement.

“We have already carried out more than 6,000 calibrations and, with car manufacturers stating this work is best done in workshop conditions, we are proud of our market leading approach delivered through 108 fitting and calibration centres throughout the UK.

“National Windscreens has invested heavily in this UK-wide network to ensure they are all well-equipped with staff that have received training and achieved qualifications to show their competency in calibration,” he added.

Managing director Pete Marsden comments: “We have an established reputation for providing a high-quality service that is extremely easy for brokers to access. This will be the third year running that we have exhibited at BIBA and we are very much looking forward to discussing our services with key decision makers from the broker sector,” he added.
