With speakers including Olympic gold medallist Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and former Prime Minister David Cameron as well as insurance professionals attending from Europe, China, South Africa and the USA, BIBA 2017 was certainly the place for National Windscreens to showcase its dedicated broker service and industry leading ADAS calibration service.

The UK’s largest independently owned windscreen repair and replacement company exhibited for the third year in a row at the Manchester Central event which aims to build stronger relationships across the world.

Pete Marsden, managing director at National Windscreens, said: “This event continues to grow in relevance for people working in the insurance sector across the globe and is now an important part of our calendar as well.

“At BIBA 2017 we showcased our Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration service. ADAS features are predicted to be installed in up to 40% of cars by 2020 which will be welcomed by brokers because of the role they play in making roads safer.

“However, we know from detailed research we have undertaken that many brokers are not as aware as they need to be about the impact ADAS has when handling insurance claims regarding autoglazing.

“This is because many of these systems work through cameras mounted on windscreens so, if glass needs replacing, then these cameras also need to be calibrated in order to ensure the safety features continue to work as intended.

“We are doing everything we can to ensure insurers, brokers and motorists are fully aware that ADAS camera calibration is essential following windscreen replacement and attending BIBA 2017 enabled us to share our industry expertise with many brokers.

“We have already carried out more than 6,000 calibrations and, with car manufacturers stating this work is best done in workshop conditions, we are proud of our market leading approach delivered through 108 fitting and calibration centres throughout the UK as well as 1,500 centres in Europe through our partnership with AutomotiveGlassEurope,“ he added.

Lisa Pugh, insurance business development director at National Windscreens, says: “We fully understand that insurance brokers are at the cutting edge in the delivery of customer satisfaction and that success relies on building policyholder trust and delivering on promises.

“We already hold sole and preferred supplier status with many of the UK’s leading insurance providers and have direct billing arrangements with more than 70 of them – testimony to the outstanding service provided to both brokers and policyholders.

“Attending BIBA 2017 enabled us to introduce our dedicated service for brokers to many new people and we hope they will become satisfied customers in the future,” she added.
