Days Rental, the UK car and van hire specialist, has appointed National Windscreens as sole supplier for its windscreen repair, replacement and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration requirements.
The two-year contract will see National Windscreens provide glass fitting and calibration to Days Rental’s fleet of 5,000 vehicles and its 11 local hire centres in the UK. The deal includes an option to extend the contract by a further two years.
“Our national coverage through 108 fitting and calibration centres, combined with our team of over 800 mobile glazing technicians, is a key factor in our ability to work with national fleet companies such as Days Rental,” said James Cook, business development manager at National Windscreens.
“Days has to minimise vehicle downtime, ensuring its fleet of hire cars, vans and commercial vehicles are back on the road and available for hire as quickly and efficiently as possible. National Windscreens nationwide network means on average a driver is never more than 11 miles or 20 minutes away from one of our technicians,” confirms James.
National Windscreens has invested more than £2 million in ADAS calibration technology, providing a one-stop service for windscreen replacement and ADAS calibration. With the number of vehicles using ADAS expected to grow to 40 per cent by 2020, an increasing number of vehicles within the Days Rental fleet will feature this technology and will require ADAS camera calibration following windscreen replacement.

Days Rental is the latest fleet and insurance contract win for National Windscreens. It has previously announced contracts with Lex Autolease, Zenith, Fleet Hire, Zurich and others.
