As the UK’s largest independently owned, award winning windscreen repair and replacement specialist, National Windscreens’ expertise is not just limited to cars, vans and HGVs.

The company’s specially trained technicians are also highly experienced in installing replacement glazing for a wide range of coach, bus, agricultural and plant machinery and recently fitted an upper screen of 100 kgs and measuring 3 metres by 2 metres to one of the most prestigious of coaches, the Neoplan Starliner, owned by Edwards Coaches, Pontypridd

The Starliner is used as the principal means of transport for the Welsh National Rugby team and after the season ends is used for the European Red Dragon Tours.

Edwards Coaches has been a customer of the specialist glazing division of National Windscreens for over a decade and prides itself in being one of Wales’ premier Award Winning tour operators picking up the award for Coach Operator of the Year for three consecutive years and being nominated in the fourth.

Operating for nearly 90 years, it is a well established family business and the largest privately owned Coach Company in South Wales - currently employing 420 staff and operating 230 vehicles.

Denis Reed, Regional Compliance Manager of National Windscreens, Bristol was on hand to ensure that the technicians conformed to all the necessary Health and Safety regulations as the four highly skilled technicians manoeuvered the huge piece of glass into place with the use of a SUMO electro-mechanical lifter.  The work was completed in five hours from start to finish.

The team was assisted by PSV Glass who is the approved glass distributor for Neoman glass product in the UK. The glass was delivered to site by a team of technical support managers who offered their experience and expertise during the installation. Regional Sales Manager, Richard Green said “We’ve worked very closely with National Windscreens for some considerable time, it was an absolute pleasure to play a part in getting this vehicle back on the road, the specialist glazing division have demonstrated the attention to detail that matters so much in our industry, especially when carrying out works to such a high profile vehicle."

Jason Edwards for Edwards Coaches said, “We were very pleased with how the National Windscreens technicians handled this complex and unique job, and the care and attention given to each stage of the intricate work. This comes from the wealth of expertise and training of the specialist glazing team and we are delighted with the outcome."
