Investing in customer service pays offApril 2, 2012
National Windscreens has commented on claims from some industry sources that the automotive glazing sector has been in decline. The company has announced record growth and underlined its intention of being the clear market leader in the UK automotive glazing sector with a series of high profile account wins in the insurance and fleet sectors.
Over the past 12 months National Windscreens has grown by 74% and has announced plans that will see their growth continue this year.
Peter Marsden, Commercial Director at National Windscreens confirms: “The market recently has slowed down due to the mild weather and current economic climate. This however has not required us to alter our growth plans or resourcing levels. We firmly believe that the cutbacks and downsizing announced recently by some of our competitors is a direct result of our continued success.”
National Windscreens is already the largest independent glass repair and replacement specialist in the UK and is growing fast in its current position as the second largest overall in this sector.
Over the past couple of months National Windscreens has been appointed preferred supplier to both Chubb Insurance and Brit Insurance, building on its previous success in winning the Admiral contract. Already established as the clear market leader in the fleet sector, the company has further secured its position with the announcement this month that they are now the primary supplier to Lex Autolease.
In a market where many of its competitors are reducing head counts and closing branches, National Windscreens continues to buck the trend in the automotive glazing sector. The last few months have seen the company recruit over 200 people, double the capacity of its Tamworth based call centre and continue to grow what is now the UK’s largest UK branch network.
Peter Marsden confirms: “Our success is firmly based on providing the best possible customer service combined with careful cost control. We have 114 branches in the UK providing truly national coverage, supported by 800 mobile technicians. These branches provide a highly cost effective business model and fast response thanks to the large amount of glass stocks held locally.”← Olympic Games 2012 Contingency Plans Supplier of the year in fleet news awards →
