The Meningitis Research Foundation has been presented with a £5,000 cheque by National Windscreens following a 66-mile marathon charity walk by managers and staff based in Bristol. The five-day walk from Redditch in Worcestershire to the MRF headquarters at Thornbury raised £2,500 which was matched by the company in support of its favourite charity.

Martyn Bennett, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at National Windscreens, who walked on day four, said: MRF has been our chosen charity for the past 20 years and we have helped to raise nearly £15,000 towards research into this deadly disease. Martyn comments: “Our sponsored walk was an ideal opportunity to boost fund-raising to create greater awareness of meningitis and septicaemia which kills more than 300 people on the UK every year, and raise even more money for such a worthwhile charity”.
Kate Baldwin, Corporate & Development Fundraising officer at Meningitis Research Foundation said: “We’re so grateful to National Windscreens for all their support over the years, and especially this fantastic effort through their sponsored walk. “As well as helping to raise much-needed funds for our work to fight meningitis, it’s a great way to raise awareness of this devastating disease.”
